Stearns Wharf & The Harbor

Stearns Wharf & The Harbor, Santa Barbara's Top Attraction

Stearns Wharf is Santa Barbara’s most visited landmark. Anchored by the signature dolphin fountain at the base of State St., it extends over the ocean where you can easily walk or drive. A classic wharf with restaurants, shopping, candy store, sea center and wine tasting, it’s a great way to experience Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara Harbor is home to our beautiful marina where the boats are docked and fishermen unload their daily catch. With casual to upscale restaurants, shops and the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, it’s a favorite among visitors and locals as well. Sea Landing, located in the harbor, is a hub for whale watching, sailing, kayak and Jet Ski rentals, scuba diving and fishing activities.

Along our central coastline is a walking/bike path that takes you from the start of East Beach with its volleyball courts to Stearns Wharf. It then continues to West Beach, the Harbor and Leadbetter Beach.
This well-designed path continues up the shoreline and along the bluffs featuring picnic tables, BBQs and a picturesque view of the Pacific Ocean.

After a day exploring all there is to see and do at the wharf, return to another Santa Barbara landmark: Spanish Garden Inn. As a hotel near Stearns Wharf - you can even walk there - we're delighted to be Your Concierge and to help with any questions you have about visiting the wharf during your stay.
